''The Slow Mo Guys'' is a web-based series created by Gavin Free and starring Free and Daniel Gruchy and has been described as the biggest channel for slow motion videos on YouTube. The series consists of many different things filmed in extreme slow motion using a range of Vision Research Phantom high-speed cameras, capable of shooting over 10,000 frames per second. The series premiered 3 November 2010. As of June 2014, their YouTube channel has over 4 million subscribers and over 330 million views.
''The Slow Mo Guys'', features slow motion footage of various pranks and stunts, garnering millions of views since it launched in 2010. In April 2011 the channel was voted the winner of YouTube's ''On The Rise'' program which highlights up-and-coming YouTube partners on the homepage. In September 2012, their episode involving crushing watermelons was featured on ''The Tonight Show''.
On 20 February 2013, Free confirmed that the series had been picked up by Rooster Teeth and that further episodes of the series would be released on Rooster Teeth's website, as well as the series' existing YouTube channel.
A best of compilation was released by Rooster Teeth Productions for home video on 10 September 2013.
In January 2014, in collaboration with GE Global Research, the R&D; division of General Electric, they released a video showcasing the company's latest innovations, including superhydrophobic surfaces and how magnetic nanoparticles behave like liquid magnets. Two additional videos featuring them demonstrating MEMS and "cold spray" 3D painting technology were also released on the official GE YouTube channel. The series was featured as part of YouTube's 2013 "Rewind" year-in-review video.

Slow motion (commonly abbreviated as slowmo) is an effect in film-making whereby time appears to be slowed down. It was invented by the Austrian priest August Musger.
Typically this style is achieved when each film frame is captured at a rate much faster than it will be played back. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving more slowly. The technical term for slow motion is overcranking which refers to the concept of cranking a handcranked camera at a faster rate than normal (i.e. faster than 24 frames per second). Slow motion can also be achieved by playing normally recorded footage at a slower speed. This technique is more often applied to video subjected to instant replay, than to film. A third technique that is becoming common using current computer software post-processing (with programs like Twixtor) is to fabricate digitally interpolated frames to smoothly transition between the frames that were actually shot. Motion can be slowed further by combining techniques, interpolating between overcranked frames. The traditional method for achieving super-slow motion is through high-speed photography, a more sophisticated technique that uses specialized equipment to record fast phenomena, usually for scientific applications.
In kinematics, the speed of an object is the magnitude of its velocity (the rate of change of its position); it is thus a scalar quantity. The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance traveled by the object divided by the duration of the interval; the instantaneous speed is the limit of the average speed as the duration of the time interval approaches zero .
Like velocity, speed has the dimensions of a length divided by a time; the SI unit of speed is the meter per second, but the most usual unit of speed in everyday usage is the kilometer per hour or, in the USA and the UK, miles per hour. For air and marine travel the knot is commonly used.
The fastest possible speed at which energy or information can travel, according to special relativity, is the speed of light in vacuum c = 299,792,458 meters per second, approximately 1079 million kilometers per hour (671,000,000 mph). Matter cannot quite reach the speed of light, as this would require an infinite amount of energy. In relativity physics, the concept of rapidity replaces the classical idea of speed. In day-to-day athletics, it is proper to say that a teenager can achieve atleast 20 kmph (or 12.43 mph) of speed while a best runner can achieve 30 kmph (or 18.64 mph) which is similiar to run 100m running race in about 12 seconds. The average speed for a teenager is 24 kmph, which can be a result on running 100m in 15 seconds.
Freddie Wong is an American filmmaker, musician, VFX technician and e-Sports player. He maintains two popular YouTube channels, "freddiew" and "freddiew2". He is the older brother of fellow YouTuber Jimmy Wong.
Wong graduated from Lakeside School. He then attended and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Wong owns and manages Overcrank Media, a Los Angeles based media production company specializing in feature film and online video content, having produced an independent film titled Bear. Wong met his future collaborator Brandon Laatsch in college. They have collaborated with various Hollywood artists, and with video game development companies.
Wong competed in the World Series of Video Games in Dallas in July 2007. He won first prize in the Guitar Hero 2 competition, playing the song "Less Talk More Rokk" by Freezepop.
During MTV's "Gamer's Week" celebration in November 2007, Freddie appeared as a guest on Total Request Live. Participating in the program with his newly-formed band Hellanor Brozevelt, Wong was part of a country-wide search to find the best Rock Band ensemble. After receiving tutelage from well-known rockers Good Charlotte, Brozevelt performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York against Chicago-based Carrie Me Home.[citation needed]
Timmy's walking tall with his best laid plans
Taking Penny Lane to the sixth grade dance
And he's bringing flowers
He's looking pretty sharp in his dad's red tie
Gonna hold her hand if he's not too shy
He's bringing flowers
Don't every girl love flowers?
Looking 'round for Penny for the slow song at the end
And he found her looking pretty in the arms of his best friend
They were dancing in slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow ow mo
Slow ow ow mon, slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow ow mo
Jimmy's losing sleep 'cause he thinks it's time
Ever since he met her at the five 'n dime
He's been seeing Jenny
He's waiting for the moment when he makes his move
Had to plan it out 'cause he's not real smooth
But he holds her steady
Aint every boy born ready?
Standing on the front porch; he's about to be the man
I swear he had it 'til her mom pulled up in the mini van up the driveway in
Slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow mo
Slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow mo
Like a car crash at the race
A pie right to the face
Falling down the stairs
Finding out that she cares
Don't it last forever when you never saw it coming at all?
You better take a chair and prepare for the wrecking ball, coming at you in
Slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow mo, slow ow ow mo
